Why twelve, not seven
Chakras are the subtle energy portals within and around your body that regulate how life force moves through your physical, emotional, and spiritual fields. Most people are familiar with the traditional seven chakras, root to crown, aligned along the spine. That map isn't wrong; it's simply the physical baseline. In my 8 years of facilitating Kundalini activations and channelled energy work, I've noticed Kundalini energy consistently expands beyond the top of the head and deep into the Earth.
Over the years, I got to know Kundalini as the energy of cosmic consciousness. When this high-vibrational energy awakens within your being, it doesn't stop at the crown, nor does it begin at the base of the spine. Working with a 12-chakra map bridges your physical existence with your transpersonal and cosmic identity. It accounts for the anchor deep beneath your feet and the higher light codes above your head, offering a complete blueprint for Kundalini energy to flow safely, fully, and intentionally.
Where Kundalini moves
Earth Star (Vasundhara): Positioned roughly 12 to 18 inches below your feet. This centre anchors your entire energy field directly into the Earth's core. Without activation here, high-frequency Kundalini surges can leave you feeling ungrounded or overwhelmed. It is the foundation of physical embodiment.
Root (Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine. Governs survival, physical safety, ancestral lineage, and basic trust. This is where Kundalini traditionally rests before awakening, shedding old fears and scarcity patterns as it stirs.
Sacral (Svadhisthana): Located in the lower abdomen. The centre of emotional fluidity, creative force, and pleasure. As Kundalini rises here, stored emotional blockages dissolve, making room for raw creative expression.
Solar Plexus (Manipura): Located in the upper abdomen. Governs personal sovereignty, inner strength, autonomy, and confidence. Clearing this centre shifts you away from people-pleasing and into quiet, aligned power.
Heart (Anahata): Located at the centre of the chest. The bridge between physical and spiritual realms, governing unconditional love, forgiveness, and grief release. Kundalini moving through the heart creates profound emotional freedom.
Throat (Vishuddha): Located at the base of the neck. The centre of truth, resonance, and authentic vocalisation. Energy opening here allows you to express your true self without fear of judgment.
Third Eye (Ajna): Positioned between the eyebrows. Governs intuition, inner vision, and clarity beyond physical perception. Awakening this centre quietens mental chatter and restores deep inner knowing.
Crown (Sahasrara): Positioned at the top of the head. The traditional portal of spiritual connection, unity consciousness, and enlightenment. In this 12-chakra system, the crown is the gateway upward, not the final destination.
Soul Star (Sutratma): Positioned about 6 inches above the crown. Known as the seat of your soul, holding karmic history, soul contracts, and Akashic blueprints ready to be integrated into this lifetime.
Spirit Star / Solar Centre: Floating above the Soul Star. Connects your energy field to spirit-guide communication, solar frequencies, and higher-dimensional light codes.
Universal Chakra: Situated high above the head. Governs complete alignment with divine masculine and feminine energies, integrating cosmic intelligence with your daily physical reality.
Galactic Chakra: Positioned in the higher aura. The portal to stellar wisdom, ancestral star origins, and multidimensional consciousness, bringing your Starseed memory into conscious awareness.
Divine Gateway: The highest etheric centre. Represents total oneness with Divine Source, allowing pure light to flow down through all lower chakras into the physical Earth.
